Roy Ernest Lively born in Halifax, Nova Scotia March 20, 1942. Raised
in Pleasant Harbour, moved to Dartmouth 1948, graduated TUNS University.
Married his childhood sweetheart, Doreen Louise Scudder in 1961.
They have two sons, Richard and Darren, daughter, Nadine and five
grandchildren.
Bro. Roy served as Warden of St. Luke's Church and has been a member
of the Council for the past thirty years. He is a group committee
member for the Second Westphal Scouting Group and enjoys working
with young people. Roy is the owner of two refrigeration, one ventilation and one natural
gas company in Nova Scotia,and one refrigeration company in Havana,
Cuba. In 1994 he was appointed the refrigeration technical advisor
of Cuba and helped open the doors for trade between Canada and Cuba.
Bro. Roy's Grandfather, Father and older Brother Bill were members
of the Masonic Order, Roy's Masonic career started in 1980. Raised
in Athole Lodge No. 15, served as Worshipful Master in 1985 then
Director of Ceremonies and Secretary for 11 years.
He is a member of St. John's Lodge No.2 and John Albro Lodge No.
122. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Secretaries
Long Service Medal in 2004. Elected Junior Grand Warden June 2005,
Senior Grand Warden June 2006, Deputy Grand Master June 2007 and
Grand Master June 2008.
Brother Lively is a member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish
Rite 32 degree, served as Most Wise Sovereign and presently holds
the
Office of Prelate and is the Director of the 18th and 23rd Degree
in the Consistory.
Roy is a member St. Andrew's /Renown Chapter No. 2/19 Holy Royal
Arch, served as High Priest of St. Andrew's Chapter and Grand
Superintendent for District No.1, Grand Scribe 2001; Grand
King 2002 and Most
Excellent Grand High Priest 2003. He is Past Grand High Priest
(Hon.) Grand
Chapter of Newfoundland and Labrador, Past Grand First Principal
(Hon.) Grand Chapter of New Brunswick. Grand Representative,
Grand Chapter of New Hampshire. He is recipient of the Joseph
Conway
Brown Medallion.
Bro. Lively is a member of Antiquity Preceptory No. 5 Knight
Templar Having served as Presiding Preceptor in 2010.
He was greeted in Chebucto Council No.3 in 1984, joined Charles
E. Richardson Council of Royal and Select Masters 1987 served
as the Thrice Illustrious Master
1992. Joined the Moran J. Wagner Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners 1989 and served
as Commander Noah 2008. Was elected Grand Captain of the Guard in 2008,
Grand principal Conductor of the Work 2009, Deputy Grand Master
2010 and Most Puissant
Grand Master/Grand Commander Noah 2011.
Bro. Lively joined the Nova Scotia York Rite College No. 132
in 1990 having served as Preeminent Governor 2008. In 1990 he joined St. Andrew's Tabernacle No. 85 Holy Royal Arch
Knight Templar Priests or Order of Holy Wisdom and presently
serves in the office
of the
Seventh Pillar.
Bro. Lively is a member of Neptune Council No. 71 Universal Craftsmen,
Council of Engineers, served as Worthy Chief 1995. Elected Deputy Grand
Worthy Chief
1998.
He is a member of Royal Edward Conclave No.8 Masonic and Military
Order, Knight of the Red Cross of Constantine and is presently
Puissant Sovereign.
Bro. Lively was admitted into the Order of the Secret
Monitor Conclave No.6 2004.
He joined Philae Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. in 1986 and is a charter
member of the Dartmouth Shrine Club. He joined Armcrest Chapter No. 45
O.E.S. in 2007. |
